What Is Hybrid Training & Why It Works
Many people are surprised to learn that virtual training is incredibly effective—because the majority of every lesson is actually spent teaching you, the owner, how to train your dog. Once you understand what to do, your consistency at home is what drives real results.
We coach owners virtually all the time with amazing success—and hybrid training adds flexibility for families who are just outside our in-person service area but still want that occasional hands-on support.

FAQs
-
No! We can work with all your dogs during the session at no additional cost. While the session is limited by time, we are committed to addressing all your questions for each pup.
-
Channeled Canine Coaching believes in maximizing the use of positive reinforcement reward-based training as the first line of defense. We follow the LIMA principle- “Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive.”
-
Please make sure you have plenty of high value treats available to last the duration of the session. These treats should be crumb sized and a variety should be present in case your pup gets bored with one flavor. Moist, meaty, stinky treats work best. Having boiled chicken is always a crowd favorite! Make sure your pup is hungry and ready to work. This may mean withholding breakfast until after our session if we are meeting early or feeding a half portion. Make sure your dog has enough energy to train and you limit distractions during this time so we can maximize the use of our time.
-
Yes! The whole family is welcome to join if desired, but you know your children best…. if they are unable to sit through the session with the attention solely on your pup, you may want to provide an activity for them to do or utilize a babysitter. You know your family dynamic best, so the choice is up to you.
-
No, results are not guaranteed, as many variables can influence the outcome, including the family’s ability to follow through with homework assignments, the individual skillsets of the pet parents, the learning style of each dog, and the specific behavioral challenges being addressed. Every dog is unique, progresses at its own pace, and some may require more time and sessions than others. Each training package is designed to provide a foundation for families to build upon, knowing this is a long-term journey they are embarking on together.
-
Yes! There are great benefits in holding sessions remotely. Often the first 15 minutes of meeting with clients in person involve getting the dog to settle back down after the initial excitement of having a new person enter their home. By holding sessions virtually, we remove the added distraction and can jump straight into learning.
-
Each session will begin by asking how the previous week’s homework went and addressing any questions that may have come up. The focus will then shift to expanding on the skills learned the week before and introducing 1-3 new skills to practice, depending on the goals for that week. Jackie will provide a tutorial and explanation, then guide you as you practice with your dog, coaching you through any challenges. An outline of the session and homework assignments will be provided at the end of each lesson. This format is the same for both in-home and virtual lessons.

Yes. Lessons expire after 3 months after the purchase date without a refund if not completed.
